(205) 934-1686
Dr. Abi N. Giglou is a post-doctoral scholar at the Sustainable Smart Cities Research Center (SSCRC) and the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, Hoehn School of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is working under Dr. Nazari’s supervision on various projects related to sustainable smart cities and Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineering. He has consistently contributed to the field’s overall understanding of fundamental principles while solving real-world problems in his research field. He developed an effective framework to assess groundwater use and availability, comprehensive field research, and numerical modeling on deep and shallow groundwater flow, soil and water assessment, surface water and groundwater interactions, nutrient load modeling and contaminant transport in porous media, and understanding the unknown aquifer recharge mechanisms at locations across west Tennessee during his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Memphis. Dr. Giglou has published the results of his work in peer-reviewed journals and some additional presentations at international conferences. He has notably been invited to do peer review work for the prestigious ASCE Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, ASCE Natural Hazards Review, Ain Shams Engineering Journal, and KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering.
