About the Program

Do you have an interest in physical fitness and a desire to help people achieve their individual health and wellness goals? Our Certificate in Health Coaching will train you to work in clinical or non-clinical settings to guide behavior changes in your clients.

Before you begin the program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and be accepted into our Graduate School. To earn the certificate, you'll complete 15 credit hours, all online. Your curriculum will include four required courses: Principles of Coaching, Health Communications and Health Coaching, Applied Behavioral Theory and Health Education/Promotion, and Intervention Strategies for Health Education/Promotion. You'll also take an elective approved by your advisor. In the end, you'll be prepared to embark on a career in the growing field of health coaching, or you can apply up to four of your courses toward a master's degree in community health.
