Flow and Force is a classroom experience in exploring the physical science underlying heart health. The 2-3 day experience includes small group discussion focused on nutrition, especially saturated fat content of fast foods and a hands-on activity, "Plaque Attack," which helps students to understand how the flow of blood through the cardiovascular system is affected by pressure and resistance. Students also learn how to measure heart rate and blood pressure and they discuss how positive lifestyle choices contribute to favorable heart health.
