Research Interests

My primary research focus is on adolescent development. I am particularly interested in protective factors for academic outcomes and incarceration in minority youth. I am also interested in the potential relationship between media (i.e. books and movies) and resilience. Other research topics of interest include moral development, discrimination, racial socialization, racial identity, moral identity, and violence exposure.
