PhD, Developmental Psychology concentration, 2015

Dr. Jiabin Shen graduated from UAB's Psychology PhD program with a concentration in Developmental Psychology in 2015 under the mentorship of Dr. David Schwebel. He is currently a postdoctoral research scientist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Biobehavioral Health in Columbus, Ohio. Jiabin’s research program focuses on the development and evaluation of theory-driven and technology-assisted interventions for primary, secondary, and tertiary injury prevention among children and adolescents. He was the recipient of Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year in Developmental Psychology (2015), Anne Anastasi Graduate Student Research Award by APA Division 52 (2015), APA Achievement Award for Early Career Professionals (2016), Most Cited Paper Award by Journal of Pediatric Psychology (2018), and Outstanding Postdoctoral Scientist for Clinical Research (2018). Jiabin has published 33 peer-reviewed papers and received several regional and national funding in support of his research from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Psychological Association, Health Resources and Services Administration, Ohio Department of Public Safety, and National Institutes of Health.
