PhD, Developmental Psychology concentration, 2011

Dr. Cynthia Hall is a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology at West Virginia University – Institute of Technology in Beckley, WV. Hall has developed a research program investigating gender differences, adult romantic relationships, and social cognition. She predominately teaches research methodology and statistics, psychometrics, and social/personality psychology courses. Hall is a graduate of UAB’s PhD program with a concentration in Developmental Psychology, where she completed multi-disciplinary training at the Civitan International Research Center, Sparks Clinics. At Sparks, she conducted developmental assessments for infants and school-age children presenting with behavioral, developmental, and/or learning concerns. Hall’s mentor at UAB was Dr. Fred Biasini.

Hall is also the sponsor of WVU-Tech’s Psychology Club and the campus supervisor of WVU’s chapter of Psi Chi. She received the Student Government Association Student Organization Advisor of the Year award in 2018 for her leadership and guidance. Hall is immersed in service activities including serving on the board of one of the oldest and longest standing community theatre organizations in the nation, volunteers at the Raleigh County Humane Society, and is actively involved with multiple campus committees. In addition, she often volunteers her free time to dog training and individuals seeking pet behavior modification.
