UAB Department of Biology graduate student Mary Latimer was recently awarded the 2015-2016 STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship.

The fellowship grant, offered by the Embassy of France in the United States, gives doctoral students enrolled in American universities the opportunity to conduct research in France for four to nine months.

Latimer, who works in Peggy Biga's laboratory at UAB, will travel to Rennes, France, for study and will complete some of her dissertation while abroad.
