The 2015 issue of the Vulcan Historical Review is out and available for purchase. The journal is completely student-written and student-edited by undergraduate and graduate students of the UAB Department of History.
Volume 19 contains articles on UAB coach Gene Bartow, the “real” Atlantis, the Emancipation Proclamation, the writings of Seneca, war and annihilation, Birmingham’s Latin American community, the Wars of the Roses, Rudolf Höss, Alexandria, Vietnamese propaganda, and social effects of the internet. It also contains book reviews and a review of the film Selma.
All history students at UAB, including recent alumni, are encouraged to submit articles, reviews, essays, oral histories, or other works of historical interest to be considered for publication. Submissions by any currently enrolled UAB student are also welcome.
