My research interests lie in studying microscopic unicellular organisms known as phyto- or bacterioplankton and the viruses that infect them. With the discovery of the first virus like particles (VLPs) in the 1970s, an entire world of ecologically significant and altogether mysterious agents was revealed, beckoning for exploration. The field of viral ecology is still relatively novel with multiple platforms upon which to work and collaborate with brilliant minds across the globe. I am excited to be doing what I love and working with these amazing systems.
