My research interests focus on how ocean acidification and warming water temperatures are affecting amphipods in Antarctica. Antarctica is a particularly interesting place of study because the climate is rapidly changing. Amphipods serve as an important food source for penguins, fish, seals, and other birds. Therefore, any impact on their population from climate change can have widespread effects on the rest of the ecosystem.
I received my B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I have previously been involved with a research project focused on determining genetic links in early cataract development in dogs.
